WHAT IS PELTA?

We thought it would be a good idea to explain in further detail who we are and what we do. In the near future, we may do a small video segment to go along with this blog.

Before going into the specifics, I want to point out that some details like the where, when, how, and who, will not be discussed due to security concerns. We will do our best in light of this to give the reader, listener, and supporter a better understanding of what we are all about.

WHY WERE WE CREATED?

We found that we can put the skills we developed through Military and Law-Enforcement to work in serving the Body of Christ. We’ve found that our passion of being protectors is not only applicable in the world of secular occupations but can and should be directed toward the ministry also.

WHAT IS OUR FOCUS?

We want to provide services at no cost to those who need but can’t afford it, mainly those overseas or in austere environments. Developing this organization, our focus was on the missionaries and church that are facing physical danger on a daily basis. Our services are by no means restricted to these, however, we see a great need for them to get trained. Those that live in these areas will likely not have the funding to pay for conventional security education. The donations we obtain will cover our transportation to their location including passports, visas, vaccination etc., will assist in our basic needs for living on-site including food, water, etc., and will in some cases, go toward training aids like practice medical equipment. Our goal is to be of complete service toward those that are spreading the Gospel and to not be a hindrance to their financial situation and time.

HOW MUCH DO WE NEED?

Although it is hard to come up with a rough estimate of the traveling costs, we’ve found that a reasonable estimate is around $4,000 per trip. Again, this goes towards our travel, stay, and some training aids. Our mindset is to live in less expensive circumstances as much as safety allows. We have no problem sleeping in the dirt.

WHERE DO THE DONATIONS COME FROM?

Our goal is to acquire donations by: (1.) Those that simply become aware of PELTA through word of mouth or social media and decide to support us monetarily, and (2.) Providing training to the Church and missionaries locally and build donations through their monetary gifts if they choose to support us. (Note: Training locally will most likely be the majority of our work, although the primary focus is to train those overseas.)

Down the line, we are looking to sell merchandise and build income off of this.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?

  1. Pray for us and those we train.

  2. Without the funds we can’t go. You can donate through our website missionshield.org

  3. Invite us to your church to train active shooter response and train your missionaries before they travel.

  4. Spread the word and follow us on social media.
